Recognition of Hillsborough County Public Schools for Receiving the Florida Healthy School District Gold Level Award (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Florida Coordinated School Health Partnership in collaboration with Florida Action for Healthy Kids, Florida Association of District School Superintendents, and Florida Healthy Kids Corporation recognizes districts at the gold level. This award is the highest level that may be achieved and is based on submission of self-assessments of sustainable infrastructure, policy, programs, and practices identified from national and state guidelines, best practices, and Florida statutes. HCPS joins only eleven other districts who have received this level of recognition. Those districts include Baker, Duval, Lee, Leon, Nassau, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Santa Rosa, and Sarasota counties. HCPS will be featured as a Gold Level Healthy District on the Department of Education's Office of Healthy Schools website for a two-year period. |
