Approve Agreements for Technical Service Which Provide Services to Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) (Educational Access, Opportunity, and Alternatives Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of these six Agreements for Technical Services for FIMC-VI.  A synopsis of each vendor providing services is outlined on Attachment A.

Since 1972, the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (FLDOE/BEESS) continues to support FIMC-VI with federal IDEA/Part B, IDEA Trust, and State General Revenue appropriations to meet the instructional needs of Florida's students with visual impairments. As defined by Florida Statute 1003.55, FIMC-VI will produce, procure, distribute, recirculate, and house specialized materials including statewide assessments for students who are blind and visually impaired.  Hillsborough County Public Schools has served as FIMC-VI's headquarters for 44 years.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $318,173 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget.  For tracking purposes, the project numbers specific to this agenda item are 3317 and 3403.
EVALUATION
As required in the Additional Assurances included in the 2017/2018 Project Application, quarterly data reflecting all project activities will be reported and maintained in the FLDOE/BEESS Project Tracking System.  All braille transcription activities, technical services and support facilitation activities will be evaluated quarterly based on timely delivery of reports, number of activities completed, and the quality of deliverables.
