Approve Second Amendment to the Real Property Land Exchange Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners

On December 6, 2016, the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, a body corporate, entered into an Exchange Agreement with the Board of County Commissions of Hillsborough County that would, in part, transfer a parcel of land on 22nd Street, Tampa, near Muller Elementary School, from Hillsborough County to the School Board.  The purpose of the exchange was to permit Junior Achievement, currently located on School Board owned property, to expand their current building onto the adjacent site. 

Junior Achievement is moving forward diligently to comply with all construction permitting required to complete the building expansion, but does not anticipate completion and certificate of occupancy within the 12 month period specified within the Exchange Agreement.  Therefore, Junior Achievement is requesting an additional 12 months to complete and occupy the expansion, with an additional 12-month extension period.

The Second Amendment to the Land Exchange Agreement will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners at October 4, 2017 meeting.

Approval of the Second Amendment to Land Exchange Agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the Board of County Commissioners of Hillsborough County will have no financial impacts to the School Board.
