Approve Temporary Construction Easement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the Board of County Commissioners of Hillsborough County at Dowdell Middle School for the Delaney Creek Water Quality Improvement Project

Staff of the Public Works Department of Hillsborough County have requested a temporary construction easement from the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, a body corporate, to perform necessary work for the Delaney Creek Water Quality Improvement project adjacent to Dowdell Middle School.  This project will entail stabilizing the banks of the creek and the construction of rock weirs to allow for sediment to settle from the stream's flow.  Hillsborough County also proposes to construct approximately 1,000 feet of sidewalk along the east side of 76th Street from 12th Avenue to connect to the existing sidewalk along Destin Drive; and stabilize the drainage canals along the west side of Wishing Well Way.  The proposed sidewalks will provide increased safety for students walking to the school. 

Any disturbance or damage to the school site caused by the County during construction of the project will be remediated by the County at their sole expense.

Approval of the temporary construction easement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County for the Delaney Creek Water Quality Improvement Project adjacent to Dowdell Middle School will have no financial impact to the School Board.
