Approve Amendment #1 to Contract #1A-641 Between the Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) and the Florida Department of Education Office of Assessment (Division of Educational Access, Opportunities, and Alternatives) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request the approval of Amendment #1 to contract #1A-641 for the FIMC-VI to assist the Florida Department of Education Office of Assessment by providing expert reviews of the Florida Standards Alternate Assessment (FSAA) materials to ensure they are appropriate for students with visual impairments. This contract is amended to include the item review and proofreading services for the 2017/2018 FSAA Task Grades 3-5. This will include the proofreading in both contracted and uncontracted braille in Unified English Braille (UEB) and UEB with Nemeth Code for mathematics and science. FIMC-VI is a statewide resource center assisting Florida's 67 school districts with specialized materials needs of students who are blind and visually impaired. FIMC-VI operates under the Florida Department of Education through an annual agreement with Hillsborough County Public Schools. It is the practice of Florida Department of Education to sign negotiated amendments after School Board approval. |
