Approve Removal of the List of Lost and Damaged Tagged Assets from the Fixed Asset Master File Due to the Fire at Lee Elementary (Business Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On September 12, 2017, Lee Elementary suffered an extensive fire. Power to the school had been lost during Hurricane Irma and when power was restored, a fire started that fully engulfed the school. The fire was ultimately determined to be caused by electrical and storm water damage that had occurred as a result of the hurricane. This list is only for the capitalized and non-capitalized tagged assets, including the building(s) and site improvements, which cannot be utilized in any future plans for this site. The list does not include the supplies, textbooks, personal items, or the non-tagged assets such as; student chairs, student desks, tables, furniture, and lower cost electronic items that do not qualify for a unique asset number. State Statute 274.07 and Florida Administrative Code 69I-73.005 requires capitalized unaccounted property, or assets damaged beyond use, be reported to the Board.
