EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Approve the purchase of 100 replacement school buses as outlined in the 2017/2018 capital replacement plan. The 100 replacement school buses consist of 10 diesel Thomas Built buses with a 77-passenger capacity Type C bus with lift, and 90 diesel Thomas Built buses with a 77-passenger capacity Type C bus without lift. In accordance with the Florida Department of Education Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(6), in lieu of requesting competitive solicitations from three or more sources, district school boards may make purchases at or below the specified prices from contracts awarded by other city or county governmental agencies, other district school boards, community colleges, federal agencies, or the public or governmental agencies of any state. The FLDOE conducted the bid process and chose three school bus manufacturers. Florida school districts may only purchase school buses from the state‐approved contracts. The manufacturers are Blue Bird Corporation, Integrated Coach Corporation, and Thomas Built Buses, Inc. After reviewing the school bus specifications and options, the attached document shows our purchase plan. |
