EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On January 24, 2012, the Board approved the community-based reading initiative, Read On myON, between HCPS, the Children's Board of Hillsborough County, Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative, United Way Suncoast, Tampa Housing Authority, Early Learning Coalition, and Board of County Commissioners Head Start. This initiative provides all Prekindergarten - Grade 8 students of Hillsborough County with access to myON Reader from myON, LLC.

myON Reader is a comprehensive, personalized reading environment that enables children and students to access the largest integrated, interactive, and engaging library of digital books at home, school, public libraries, community centers, or anywhere they have access to the Internet.  myON, LLC, will continue to provide myON Reader subscription licenses and a full-time project manager who will manage and support the program to ensure consistency in meeting the District and Children’s Board goals for the project.  The Children’s Board and its partners will continue to work with the project manager to establish enrollment processes for those children not enrolled in school.  As a commitment to the community and ongoing partnership, myON, LLC, has in turn invested additional resources at no charge to the partnership to our one-of-a-kind community model.  myON, LLC, has added 33 additional sites (including all HCPS high schools) at no charge, over $4,000 per school in added publisher titles, and given the District copyright permission to all Capstone titles to use for teaching purposes.  This is a cost savings of $1,401,925.
