Early Learning Updates
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Superintendent Jeff Eakins announced the new Bold Beginnings initiative that will increase access to high quality, inclusive early learning programs. This project will result in adding 400 early learning seats staffed by certified educators at existing district schools in the 2018/2019 school year. Multiple programs and models will fall under the Bold Beginnings umbrella, including Head Start, Primary Exceptional Education Preschool Services (PEEPS), and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK).
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Continuously improve processes and systems • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
