Approve License Agreement Between the Florida Department of Transportation and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida for Improvement at the Corner of East Kennedy Boulevard and North Governor Street Adjacent to the Raymond O. Shelton School Administration Center to Perform Roadway Improvements

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is requesting a License Agreement from the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, a body corporate, to enter onto School Board property to perform roadway improvements along East Kennedy Boulevard adjacent to the Raymond O. Shelton Administrative Center.  The purpose of this project is to mill and resurface East Kennedy Boulevard, an existing one-way multi-lane asphalt roadway with on-street parking and curb and gutter.  The project also includes constructing sidewalk bulb outs at signalized intersections bringing pedestrian features into conformance with current ADA standards, update pedestrian signal timing, and other improvements to bring the corridor up to FDOT RRR standards.  Upgrading the pedestrian ramp would also require construction of additional drainage improvements to ensure proper drainage at the curb.

The License Agreement has been reviewed by School Board real estate legal counsel.  The license period shall begin upon the execution by each party and shall continue until November 30, 2019. 

Approval of the License Agreement between the Florida Department of Transportation and the School Board of Hillsborough County for sidewalk, drainage and signalization improvements will have no financial impact to the School Board.
