Approve Memorandum of Agreement to Participate in the Tampa Bay Area Regional Career Pathways Consortium (Workforce Connections)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Tampa Bay Area Regional Career Pathways Consortium is a collaborative effort to provide a seamless articulation system for Tampa Bay area high school and adult technical students to continue their education at the technical center and community college level.  The Memorandum of Agreement shall be in effect from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2022, with provision for review at least every two years to certify the standards of the articulation.

The Memorandum of Agreement with the Tampa Bay Area Regional Career Pathways Consortium includes:  Hillsborough Career Pathway Consortium (Hillsborough Community College and The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida); Pasco-Hernando Career Pathway Consortium (Pasco-Hernando State College, Hernando County School District and District School Board of Pasco County); Pinellas County Career Pathway Consortium (St. Petersburg College and Pinellas County School Board); Polk Career Pathway Consortium (Polk State College and the School District of Polk County); and the Suncoast Career Pathways Consortium (State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, Manatee County School Board and Sarasota County School Board).

The Tampa Bay Area Regional Career Pathways Consortium requires The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida to be the first signature on the Agreement.  Each member of the consortium will submit the agreement to their respective Board for approval.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
There is no fee to participate in this consortium. Staff members in the district office of Career and Technical Education spend a portion of their time on efforts to participate in the Tampa Bay Area Regional Career Pathways Consortium.
EVALUATION
During semi-annual meetings, the Tampa Bay Area Regional Career Pathways Consortium representatives will discuss the current usage level of articulated credits, required changes to the overall offering of articulation agreements, and the ongoing communications strategy to market this opportunity to prospective students in the Tampa Bay Area Region.
