SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Revised Job Descriptions for Officer, Procurement and Analyst, Procurement (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Procurement Officer job description is being revised to align with changes in industry certification. Recently, the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) mandated at least an Associate's Degree to qualify for the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification. Previously, a high school diploma was accepted. This job description is being revised to allow four years to obtain the certification, rather than three years, now that the minimum requirements have increased (Qualifications section).

The Procurement Analyst job description is being revised to reflect necessary adjustments in the scope of work in order to support the purchasing needs of schools and district divisions. This revision will allow a focus on the procurement processes of all divisions, including market data and purchasing trends, in addition to the current report writing duties.  From the previous version of the job description, the revised job description adds responsibility for the support of relevant external software systems (Position Summary section), as well as the duties of researching and analyzing procurement data (Specific Duties & Responsibilities section).

The Procurement Analyst job description updates the displayed salary schedule from PROFTECH paygrade (PG) H to NON-REP PG 31 to align with the current salary schedule for this position.  The salary schedule for this position was changed in the 2014-2015 school year when all positions on the PROFTECH schedule were moved to the NON-REP schedule, except those PROFTECH positions in the Information Technology Division.  This position has been NON-REP PG 31 since the 2014-2015 school year; therefore, there is no additional cost incurred by the district.  This position has a salary range of $46,309.12 to $73,025.92.
