Adoption of Proclamation – National School Library Month, April 2018 (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Throughout the month of April, library media specialists will be recognized and celebrated for inspiring students to become lifelong learners by connecting students with the resources to read, explore, analyze, and think critically about the world around them. Sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians, a division of the American Library Association, this year’s National School Library Month theme is, “Making Connections at Your School Library.” The adoption of this proclamation by the School Board is an acknowledgement of the essential role of Hillsborough County library media specialists, highlighting their tremendous impact through building connections and preparing students for life.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration
