Recognition of 2018 Law Week Art Contest Winners (Outreach and School Improvement)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Law Week 2018 was held March 5 – March 9.  The theme for Law Week was, “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom”.  Attorneys from the Hillsborough County Bar Association – Young Lawyers Division, presented mock trials to 3rd and 4th grade students and provided the opportunity for 5th grade students to tour the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse.  Classroom speakers were offered to middle and high school students.  Local attorneys spoke on topics such as careers in the legal profession, the Law Week theme and topics related to their current curriculum.  The total number of students impacted was over 4300.  In addition to classroom speakers, middle and high school students had the opportunity to enter the Law Week 2018 Art Contest.  Students were asked to submit artwork in any medium related to the Law Week 2018 theme, “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom”.  Artwork was judged by local attorneys.  The winning artwork is on display on the outside patio of the ROSSAC building.  The winners will be recognized by the Hillsborough County Bar Association at the Law Day Luncheon on May 9, 2018.
