A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provided for a classroom addition at East Bay High School to support current and project enrollment growth within existing boundaries. The project scope provided twenty new classrooms adding capacity for five hundred additional students. On November 17, 2015, the Board approved the appointment of Wilder Architecture, Inc. to provide design services and on December 15, 2015, appointed Ajax Building Corporation to provide construction management services. The project was scheduled in phases so as not to interrupt student entry into the school at more than one location. This Phase 2 work will affect the main entry into the school and will primarily be performed over the summer months.

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the Classroom Addition - Phase 2 at East Bay High School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provided for a classroom addition at East Bay High School to support current and project enrollment growth within existing boundaries. The project scope provided twenty new classrooms adding capacity for five hundred additional students. On November 17, 2015, the Board approved the appointment of Wilder Architecture, Inc. to provide design services and on December 15, 2015, appointed Ajax Building Corporation to provide construction management services. The project was scheduled in phases so as not to interrupt student entry into the school at more than one location. This Phase 2 work will affect the main entry into the school and will primarily be performed over the summer months. Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project. Project completion is scheduled for August 9, 2018.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds in the amount of $8,000,000.00 will be available in the Impact Fees fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8607. As of Friday, March 2, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,382,194.87. The Guaranteed Maximum Price recommended for approval is $655,087.
