Adoption of Proclamation: The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, Supports the Legislative Efforts that Highlight and Support the Benefits of Dental Health (Communications)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Proposed state legislation would allow more dental practitioners to provide dental sealants, which will reduce the barriers that impact student learning and time out of the classroom, and would give students graduating from our Career and Technical programs the opportunity to take on more responsibility in future careers. Students who are engaged in a career training program stay committed to their studies and perform well in school, which adds to the district’s strategic goal of increased graduation rates.   This proclamation supports the legislative efforts that highlight and support the benefits of dental health.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
