Recognition of Elementary, Middle, and Secondary Winners of the 2018 Hillsborough Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Fair and Participants of the 2018 State Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair provides an opportunity for students to showcase their inquiry skill, creativity, use of technology, and innovation while enjoying mathematics, science, and engineering.  At the regional, state, and international fairs, students compete for a variety of awards and prizes offered by academic, business, community, and government partners.  In February 2018, over 2,100 students competed in the 2018 Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair held at the Tampa Convention Center.  The district honored five Best of Fair awards at their grade levels, as well as hundreds of other awards. In addition, 22 middle and secondary students qualified to compete at the SSEF competition in Lakeland, Florida on March 27-29, 2018.  Two of these students will represent Hillsborough County Public Schools at the International Science Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from May 13-18, 2018, competing against over 2,000 students from every state and over 70 countries.
