Recognition of Hillsborough County Public Schools Afterschool Professionals (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The National Afterschool Association, Florida Afterschool Alliance, and the Florida Afterschool Network have designated the week of April 23-27, 2018, as National Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week. Approximately 20,000 students are enrolled in afterschool programs in Hillsborough County Public Schools and spend an integral part of the day there. To meet the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional needs of the students, afterschool programs provide: •a nutritious, healthy snack •a safe environment, staffed with warm and caring professionals •fun, enriching, and academic activities which promote confidence, creativity, self-esteem, and responsibility •a relaxed atmosphere where children can socialize and make new friends •time to work on homework with assistance, if needed Hillsborough County Public Schools recognizes the afterschool professionals and their positive impact on our students. |
