Recognition of the For Inspiration & Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Florida Tech Challenge (FTC) Teams (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The KNO3 Robotics Team representing Plant High School competed in FIRST Robotics which was established in the fall of 2013.  Their goal was to introduce Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) opportunities in their high school and provide a sustainable platform for students to learn lifelong skills of self-confidence, communications, and leadership.  In 2017/2018, the KNO3 Robotics Team received the following awards: Divisional Finalist Alliance - South Super Regionals; Think Award 1st place - Florida State Championship; Think Award 3rd Place - South Super Regionals; Inspire Award 1st place - Robot League Championship; Inspire Award 2nd place - Florida State Championship; and the Winning Alliance Captain - Robot League Championship.  Due to these accomplishments, the KNO3 Robotics Team competed at the 2018 FIRST FTC World Championships in Houston, Texas and came in 24th place.  

The Middleton High School FIRST Robotics Team 1369, Minotaur competed with 600 teams from around the world where they made it to the division finals.  The Middleton High School FIRST Tech Challenge Team 4997, Masquerade competed with 150 teams from around the world, but did not make it to the playoff round.
