Approve the Recommended Titles as Adopted Instructional Materials for K-5 Mathematics, K-12 Science, and 9-12 Social Studies (Office of Teaching and Learning) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
A district Instructional Materials Selection Committee was formed in compliance with district instructional materials adoption procedures to review and recommend the materials for adoption. A public review was advertised via the district's website from April 10, 2018, through April 30, 2018, and a public hearing was held at the School Board meeting on May 1, 2018. Upon Board approval, a resident of Hillsborough County may file a petition within 30 days to contest the adoption. A public hearing will be held on all petitions timely received. The adoption process was conducted in accordance with Board Policy 2510 and administrative procedures.

Funds in the amount of $16,150,000 will be available in the Instructional Materials Categorical budget. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 4509. As of April 24, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $17,454,254. This cost is estimated based on projected enrollment and may fluctuate slightly based on actual need. | |
