Approve the State of Florida Statewide Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Provider Contract Form Office of Early Learning (OEL)-VPK 20 and Form OEL-VPK 20PS with the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County for the 2018/2019 School Year | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Florida Statute 1002.61 mandates each school district provide a summer VPK Program. The attached contract establishes the specific program requirements, enrollment, accountability, and financial processes for all VPK programs in Hillsborough County Public Schools. The list of district elementary schools providing all planned VPK programs is provided within the contract. Sites will be opened and staffed based on enrollment. The district will provide the VPK program through several delivery models:

The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is the fiscal agent for the VPK program funds. Funding per child will be accessed through monthly payments with reconciliation at the conclusion of the contract. All district audit requirements will be met. | |
EVALUATION | |
The state will release a VPK Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rate document for each VPK program location based on student scores from the Florida Kindergarten Readiness Screener (FLKRS). Readiness Rates for the 2018/2019 program year are expected to be released in March of 2020. | |
