SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Agreements for Technical Services Which Provide Services to Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of these seven Agreements for Technical Services for FIMC-VI. A synopsis of each vendor providing services is outlined on Attachment A.

  • VisTech Consulting, LLC

Since 1972, the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (FLDOE/BEESS) continues to support FIMC-VI with federal IDEA/Part B, IDEA Trust Funds, and State General Revenue appropriations to meet the instructional materials needs of students with visual impairments enrolled in Florida’s schools.  As defined by Florida Statute, 1003.55, FIMC-VI will produce, procure, distribute, recirculate, and house specialized materials including statewide assessments for students who are blind and visually impaired.  Hillsborough County Public Schools has served as the fiscal agent for FIMC-VI for the past 43 years.

If approved, grant funds in the amount of $448,395 will be available in the FIMC-VI budget.  For tracking purposes, the project numbers specific to this agenda item are 3117 and 3139.
EVALUATION
As required in the Additional Assurances included in the 2016/2017 Project Application, quarterly data reflecting all project activities will be maintained in the FLDOE/BEESS Project Tracking System.
