A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) renovation at B.T. Washington Elementary School. On September 19, 2017, the Board appointed RHC and Associates, Inc. and Wharton-Smith, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The project scope consists of the replacement of airside and controls, dedicated Open System Adapter (OSA) system, ventilation, controls, test and balance, commissioning, Air Handler (AH), Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, ductwork, remove existing boiler and demolition to include assistance in the assessment of salvageable equipment and recovery of refrigerant.

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System Replacement at B.T. Washington Elementary School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) renovation at B.T. Washington Elementary School. On September 19, 2017, the Board appointed RHC and Associates, Inc. and Wharton-Smith, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The project scope consists of the replacement of airside and controls, dedicated Open System Adapter (OSA) system, ventilation, controls, test and balance, commissioning, Air Handler (AH), Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, ductwork, remove existing boiler and demolition to include assistance in the assessment of salvageable equipment and recovery of refrigerant. Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project. Project substantial completion is scheduled for July 30, 2018.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds in the amount of $2,570,872.00 will be available in the Sales Tax Revenue fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8200. As of Wednesday, April 25, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $1,863,668.98. The Guaranteed Maximum Price recommended for approval is $2,283,750.
