Approve Amendment to Service Agreement #ECA-C13-SA-SBHC-FY18 to Replace it with Service Agreement #ECA-C13-SA-SBHC-FY19 with Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc. d/b/a Eckerd Community Alternatives (Eckerd, Inc.) (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Eckerd, Inc., is requesting to replace the current service agreement #ECA-C13-SA-SBHC-FY18 approved by the School Board on June 27, 2017, with the updated service agreement #ECA-C13-SA-SBHC-FY19 in order to renew the contract for the 2018/2019 school year.

Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has developed working relationships with services to support the educational success for students placed with licensed foster care families.  Several local providers including the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit and Eckerd, Inc., work together to support educational success for these students.

HCPS will provide a team of five employees during the 2018/2019 school year to include two high school counselors, one middle school counselor, and two school social workers, with one serving as the educational court liaison.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $173,805.12 will be available in the general fund.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 4238.  As of May 15, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $173,805.12.  Eckerd, Inc., will provide $173,805.12 to the district for salaries, routine travel, benefits, and equipment/supplies.  Per this agreement, Eckerd, Inc., and HCPS will provide equal funding to support the work of this service agreement.
EVALUATION
Program services are evaluated on an ongoing basis.  Individual support, guidance, and progress monitoring is provided at school sites for each participating student.  The Supervisor and Coordinator of School Social Work Services meet with the program staff for program service planning and implementation.  An annual report of student achievement is provided in collaboration with the Department of Assessment and Accountability to make recommendations and improve services for youth.
