Approve the Contract for Full Service Funding with the State of Florida, Department of Health (FLDOH) (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The purpose of this funding is to expand school-based health services and increase access to health care by funding a pediatric physician, advanced registered nurse practitioners and registered nurses salaries, and other costs associated with these positions including, but not limited to, travel to continuing education conferences, materials, and supplies needed. The Full Service School Funding provides direct health services to schools in our district. This is an annual renewal of flow-through funds from the FLDOH to the school district and has been in effect for over 20 years. | |

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
Funds in the amount of $422,722 will be available in the General Fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3578. As of May 29, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $422,722. A combination of funding from the state legislature general revenue fund and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families federal dollars will be available July 2, 2018, for the 2018/2019 fiscal year budget. | |
EVALUATION | |
Annual reports are submitted to the FLDOH containing data relative to student, parent, and school health staff encounters, as well as services provided by registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and a physician. | |
