SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Contract for Categorical/Basic Funding for Registered Nursing Services with the State of Florida, Department of Health (FLDOH) (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Categorical funding is provided annually through the FLDOH general revenue dollars and is used to fund registered nursing positions including, but not limited to, salaries, fringe, travel, and training.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $485,802 will be available in the General Fund.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3535.  As of May 29, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $485,802.  Funds from the General Appropriation Act, Human Services Budget (FLDOH, General Revenue Dollars) will be available July 2, 2018, for the 2018/2019 fiscal year budget.
EVALUATION
Annual reports are submitted to the FLDOH containing data relative to student, parent, and school health staff encounters, as well as services provided by registered nurses.
