The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) FFVP provides grant funding to 44 schools to provide a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to students two to three days per week outside the breakfast and lunch service.
Procurement Services, in conjunction with Student Nutrition Services Department, issued an RFP for the fresh fruit and vegetable program. The district's online vendor registration system was used to notify proposers of this opportunity and two vendors responded. The initial term of this contract will be for one year beginning October 1, 2016, with four one-year renewals. The number of schools served annually is dependent upon the USDA grant funding each year. There is a 30-day termination for convenience clause included in this contract. The fixed per case delivery fee shall be firm against any increase for at least one year from the effective date of the contract. The Superintendent is authorized to approve any renewal agreements, per the terms of the specifications. |
