SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Affiliation Agreement with the Community Based Training Program (CBT) Site for Students with Disabilities for 2018/2019 and All Subsequent Years (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval for the Affiliation Agreement between the CBT site 518 West Fletcher Avenue Operations, LLC D/B/A Fletcher Health and Rehabilitation Center, to provide valuable training experiences for qualifying students with disabilities. Upon receipt of training in entry-level positions at a variety of businesses in the community, participating students are better prepared to successfully enter the workforce. Beginning with the 2018/2019 school year, under this affiliation agreement, students with disabilities will receive training opportunities.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $13,000 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, for transporting students to and from the business site in 2018/2019. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3531.
EVALUATION
CBT Business Partnership Evaluations were completed by participating sites for 2017/2018. The participating businesses rated students on their performance in the following areas:
  • Students display appropriate behavior
  • Students display independence
  • Students follow company policies/rules
  • Students display appropriate dress/hygiene
  • Students perform assigned tasks
  • Overall program effectiveness
During the 2017/2018 school year, the ratings from the above criteria produced the following positive outcomes:
  • 81 percent of the students were rated above average in the six areas previously listed
  • 19 percent of the students were rated satisfactory in the six areas previously listed
Businesses involved will be given quarterly evaluations for completion, with the final evaluations to be conducted June 30, 2019.
