Recognition of the Students Honored by Duke Talent Identification Program as National Grand Level Honorees, 2015 Middle School Education (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) identifies academically talented seventh-grade students based on standardized test scores. These students were invited to complete either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). These tests are the same college admissions exams administered to high school juniors and seniors. Seventh-grade students who score in the top 3% in the nation on the ACT or SAT receive National Grand Level Recognition and are invited to a ceremony at Duke University. This past year 54,500 seventh graders nationwide participated in TIP and 2,310 earned recognition as National Grand Level Honorees.
In Hillsborough County Public Schools, there were 723 seventh-grade students who participated in the Duke Talent Identification Program and 16 students scored high enough on the SAT or ACT to receive National Grand Level recognition. |
