SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Interagency Agreement with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), and if Approved, Accept Funds for Expert Reviews of Multiple Standardized Assessments for Students with Visual Impairments for 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021 (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) will assist the FLDOE by providing expert reviews for the 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021 statewide assessments and sample tests.  FIMC-VI will ensure the assessments listed below are appropriate for students with visual impairments.  In addition, FIMC-VI will review and proofread items, produce or obtain braille manipulatives required for the assessments, and distribute braille test materials associated with the statewide assessments.

It is the practice of the FLDOE to sign contracts after School Board approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
If approved, grant funds will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget.  As authorized by Section 1008.22, Florida Statutes, the FLDOE/K-12 Assessment Office will provide the district State General Revenue funds of $330,222 to complete assessment activities.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3529.
EVALUATION
Performance evaluation measures are determined and monitored by the FLDOE.
