| Approve the Purchase of District License from Future Plans USA (Sole-Source Provider) for College and Career Readiness Planning (Workforce Connections) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in collaboration with Guidance Services, proposes the implementation of an online College and Career Readiness planning tool called “Future Plans” with all 10th grade students. Future Plans is an interactive program which helps students discover their talents, interest and work values so they can choose the education pathway that best fits their potential career choices.
Future Plans USA is a sole-source product, manufactured, sold and distributed exclusively by Future Plans USA. In accordance with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(12)(d), commodities or contractual services available only from a single source may be exempted from the competitive solicitation requirements. When a district school board believes that commodities or contractual services are available only from a single source as specified by the FLDOE, the district school board may negotiate on the best terms and conditions with the single source vendor. |

| This software license is subject to renewal on an annual basis. Funds in the amount of $50,200 will be available in Project 3128 – Secondary Perkins Grant. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| In 2015/2016, a successful pilot program was implemented at Tampa Bay Technical High School and Robinson High School in which 450 students completed the assessment. A survey administered at the conclusion of the pilot program indicated that 75 percent of the students agree or strongly agree that they found the Future Plans experience beneficial. | |
