Approval of Agreement with the Center for Optimal Learning Environments (COLE) for Continuation of the Survey Previously Known As TELL for the 2018/2019 School Year | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Beginning in the 2012/2013 school year, the district has administered the Teaching, Empowering, Leading, and Learning (TELL) survey each year to gauge learning conditions across our many school sites. This work was previously conducted through a contract with the New Teacher Center (NTC); however, under new leadership has elected to discontinue its TELL administration and reporting efforts.
A new entity, the Center for Optimal Learning Environments (COLE), has obtained permission to continue using the content of the TELL survey under a new name. To preserve the existing six years of trend data and maintain the valuable and action-oriented reporting associated with the TELL survey, the district seeks to contract with COLE for administration and reporting of the survey (to be renamed) for the 2018/2019 school year with the option to renew for five subsequent years.
The survey is conducted at the beginning of the second semester each year and results are reported before the close of each school year. A wide range of stakeholders including faculty, school administrators, and district leaders have found these data to be useful in their work aligned with continuous improvement. |
