SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding with the Bucs Care Foundation to Implement Multiple Educational Programs and Supplemental Extracurricular Activities Provided by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Bucs Care Foundation has supported Hillsborough County Public Schools since December 2013. The partnership supports 24 schools, out of which 20 are Title I. In addition to the identified 24 Bucs Academies schools, all elementary and middle schools are included in the partnership. This agreement will provide, but will not be limited to, the following programs:
  • Back to School Health Event
  • Monthly Reading Challenges via myON Digital Reader
  • Jr. Bucs Fitness program equipment in all elementary and middle schools
  • Buccaneers Flag Football via Middle School PE
  • Art Contest for Bucs Academies
  • Cheer Chats
  • Jr. Bucs Game Day for Kids
  • Player Experiences 
Through this partnership, our students will have exposure to outside classroom opportunities while engaging in programs and activities that enhance their academic success and experiential learning.  Included are supplemental programs which may include: Hometown Huddle, NFL Play 60 Challenge, cheer camps, United Way Suncoast Day of Caring, Behind the Scenes tours, art contests, and reading challenges, among others.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
This partner donates in excess of $200,000 annually with the possibility of enhanced school-based philanthropic efforts.
EVALUATION
Participating school administrators will be surveyed at the end of each school year to provide feedback, enhancements, and recommendations.
