SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Kagan Professional Development for Educators at Dover, Foster, and Oak Park Elementary Schools (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Title IV grant focuses on student support and academic enrichment in five high-needs elementary schools.  Educators in all core subjects will receive training in incorporating cooperative learning structures with classroom group assignments to increase student engagement and learning.  Training will be followed up by coaching sessions from a trained Kagan Presenter.  The educators will apply the acquired knowledge within the classroom setting.  This training supports the School Improvement Plan and professional development plan for Dover, Foster, and Oak Park Elementary Schools.

• Improve the high school graduation rate • Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $19,304 will be available in the Title IV federal grant.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3346.  As of August 20, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $500,000. 
EVALUATION
Hillsborough County Public Schools will collect and provide assessment data using teacher evaluation instrument: domain 3.  The Title IV grant evaluator will provide assessment data on all grant activities.
