Approve the Agreements for Technical Services Which Provide Services to Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of seven Agreements for Technical Services for FIMC-VI.  A synopsis of each vendor providing services is outlined in Attachment A.

Since 1972, the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (FLDOE/BEESS) has supported FIMC-VI with federal IDEA/Part B, IDEA Trust, and State General Revenue appropriations to meet the instructional needs of Florida's students with visual impairments. As defined by Florida Statute 1003.55, FIMC-VI will produce, procure, distribute, recirculate, and house specialized materials including statewide assessments for students who are visually impaired.  Hillsborough County Public Schools has served as FIMC-VI's headquarters for 45 years.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $422,879.42 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget.  For tracking purposes, the project numbers specific to this agenda item are 3517, 3603, and 3539.  FLDOE/BEESS will provide the district approximately $2,362,677 in Federal IDEA funds and State General Revenue funds to distribute instructional materials in specialized formats statewide, to provide support for the delivery of accessible statewide assessments, and to provide professional development to all 67 school districts.
EVALUATION
As required in the Additional Assurances included in the 2018/2019 Cooperative Agreement, quarterly data reports reflecting all project activities are maintained in the FLDOE/BEESS Project Tracking System, and are reviewed and approved quarterly by the FLDOE/BEESS State Program Specialist. All braille transcription activities, technical services, and support facilitation activities are evaluated on timely delivery of reports, numbers of activities, and the quality of deliverables.
