Recognition of the McLane Middle School Robotics Vibot Team (Office of Teaching and Learning) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Vibot Team 702A participated in the 11th Annual VEX IQ World Championship held this past May in Louisville, Kentucky which was attended by over 30,000 people, including 1,648 teams from 30 nations. This event was a week-long celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), diversity, and robotics; once again securing the Guinness World Records title of largest robot competition. The Vibot Team was 68th place during the first day of competition, but relied upon their skills and game strategy to climb to 12th place by the end of the first day. On day 2 of qualifying, the Vibot Team held on to 12th place putting them in the division finals. In the finals, they were in 1st place for 4 rounds and at the end of the competition, they finished 4th place overall in their division; the highest ranking ever in VEX IQ Robotics for a McLane Middle School Team.
