Approve a Modification to a State Funded Grant Agreement Between The Florida Division of Emergency Management and the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, for the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program Shelter Retrofit at McLane Middle School and Erwin Technical College

The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, and the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management have been working together over the last several years to improve school facilities to serve the community as shelters in times of declared emergencies.  The State granted funds to the school district to retrofit McLane Middle School and Erwin Technical College; however, additional funds are required due to the State's request to perform additional work at McLane Middle School.  The attached modification to the State Grant No. 17SR-3D-08-39-03-384 has increased the construction budget by $478,244 to a total amount of $1,843,173 and extended the original completion date from May 31, 2018 to March 29, 2019.  All other terms and conditions of the State grant remain the same.

After School Board approval and execution of the attached Modification, the State of Florida will execute and complete the authorization of the grant program.

Construction funds up to $1,843,173 will be reimbursed to the School Board of Hillsborough County by the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management of the retrofit of McLane Middle School and Erwin Technical College as shelters for use during times of declared emergencies.
