SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Activities Calendar for Secondary Education Field Trips - 2016/2017
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Secondary Art, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, Social Studies, World Languages, and Science programs schedule field trips for students to participate in academic competitions and activities to enhance student learning.  The Secondary Education Field Trip Calendar will enable Area Superintendents and school administrators to determine in advance which activities have been deemed academically relevant by subject area supervisors.  Since the competitions and activities can be out-of-county, pre-approval will assist in advance planning for these events.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Activities will be supported by school internal accounts, Title I - Project 3057, and the Secondary Education Department budget.
EVALUATION
Activities will be evaluated by individual school-based personnel and the appropriate content supervisors based on the number of students participating and the impact on student achievement.
