SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, Resolution Declaring Property Located at 908 West Horatio Street, Tampa, Florida, as Surplus Property and Deemed Unnecessary for Educational Purposes
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
According to Florida Statute 1013.28, on October 17, 2017, the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, authorized the Superintendent to dispose of real property if said property was deemed surplus and unnecessary for educational purposes.  District staff has identified School Board property located at 908 West Horatio Street, Tampa, Florida, as surplus and is no longer required for educational purposes.  On September 11, 2018, the School Board also approved Spot Survey 4.9 recommending the disposition of the ancillary facility and property as required by the Florida Department of Education.  The property has a small office building and parking lot and is no longer in use by the district.

The Resolution authorizes the Superintendent and district staff to move forward with the disposal of 908 West Horatio, proceed with obtaining two independent property appraisals to establish fair market value and accept offers to purchase.

Approval of the School Board of Hillsborough County Resolution declaring 908 West Horatio Street, Tampa, Florida, as surplus property and deemed unnecessary for educational purposes will have no financial impact to the School Board.
