EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
National Hispanic Heritage Month was recognized September 15, 2018, through October 15, 2018. The Tampa Hillsborough County Public Library annually sponsors a local art contest offering students an opportunity to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have made positive contributions to our local community, country, and world. Our district Library Media Services and Art programs partner each year to engage students in this contest, with over a thousand submissions annually. Students in grades K-12 created bookmarks and posters illustrating the contest theme, "Our Local Hispanic Heritage." Students received recognition at their school sites, funding for art supplies, and complimentary passes to The Tampa History Museum.
