EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The purpose of the 21st CCLC Grant is to continue to provide a community learning center that offers academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for no fewer than 85 economically disadvantaged students in grades 3 through 8 at Woodmont Charter School. Grant-funded activities are designed to help students meet state student standards in core academic subjects such as reading and math. Additionally, students are offered a broad array of enrichment activities that complement their regular academic programs. Literacy and other educational services are offered to the families of participating children. The Florida Department of Education requires the district to be the fiscal agent for the grant project. This is year three of the five-year grant. | |

Funds in the amount of $175,959 will be available in the 21st CCLC Grant. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3325. As of December 10, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for the line item equaled $175,959. | |
EVALUATION | |
The funding agency requires the use of an external evaluator to assess project impact. Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) contracts with the external evaluator to provide services. The evaluator provides a copy of the annual evaluation report and final evaluation report to the HCPS Office of Strategy Management. The Year 1 evaluation report cited the program met or exceeded the proposed benchmarks in 8 of 13 objectives. Woodmont showed significant increase in Year 2, meeting or exceeding 13 of 13 proposed objectives. | |
