Approve Revisions to the Student Progression Plan (SPP), Kindergarten-Adult for the 2018/2019 Academic Year
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Florida Statute 1008.25 requires each school district to establish a program for student progression that includes standards for evaluating how well each student masters the Florida Standards.  In compliance with this requirement, the Office of Teaching and Learning facilitates the annual review and revision of the SPP to align with the district’s vision and mission and addresses legislative changes.

The review process begins with the convening of a taskforce for the purpose of engaging multiple perspectives through a lens of equity.  This taskforce includes Classroom Teacher Association (CTA) teachers, counselors, assistant principals, principals, supervisors, directors, and general directors, as listed in the document.

Current revisions reflect input from the taskforce and a thorough review of the district’s Strategic Plan, policies, procedures, and legislation.  Sections are reorganized to enhance readability and ease of reference.  Actual changes to district progression plan procedures are summarized on the attachment and are intended to increase opportunities for student success.

Our SPP provides a comprehensive academic resource for students, families, and staff that is accessible on our district website, therein allowing for multiple translations to meet the needs of our diverse community.
