Adoption of Proclamation - Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, February 2019 (Workforce Connections)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The National Association for Career and Technical Education, the Florida Association for Career and Technical Education, and the Hillsborough Technical, Career, and Adult Association have designated the month of February 2019 as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month.  Attached is the proclamation recognizing the observance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) month for February 2019.  The theme for this year's recognition is "Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow!” CTE serves as the foundation of a strong, continuously educated workforce, and contributes to America's leadership in an ever changing international marketplace.  CTE programs and academies are exemplary and provide graduates the skills to pursue all levels of postsecondary education.  In addition, our workforce development programs for adults provide opportunities for updating skills, pursuing advanced career opportunities, and continuing education.  The quality of Hillsborough County Public Schools CTE services and programs attracts many new industries to the Tampa Bay area which enrich our local economy. During Career and Technical Education month, CTE educators, district staff members, students, and business partners will be involved in various career awareness events.  All events will highlight the numerous career pathways available to students in Hillsborough County Public Schools through CTE.
