SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Contract for Riverview Academy of Math and Science (Charter Office)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Charter School legislation, 1002.33 F.S., permits individuals, organizations, and community members the opportunity to submit an application to the School Board for the creation of a charter school. On May 15, 2018, the School Board approved the application for Riverview Academy of Math and Science. The school will serve students in grades K-8 using a traditional curriculum concentrating on math and science in a technology rich atmosphere with additional focus on character development.

A copy of the proposed 5-year contract for the school is attached. The original charter application approved by the School Board will become Appendix I of this contract, and will be available for review in the Charter School Office.

In the event of a discrepancy between the contract and the charter application, the terms of the contract will prevail. Riverview Academy of Math and Science has agreed to all terms of the contract, which has been revised to include the most recent revisions to 1002.33, F.S.

A copy of the application review summary is attached indicating where weaknesses are addressed in the contract.
