The HVAC System in the Plant High School Gymnasium has been malfunctioning for quite some time. District staff selected Carastro & Associates, Inc. and Reno Building, LLC from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services to replace the HVAC system. The project scope consisted of the replacement of three HVAC units in the gymnasium, addition of variable frequency drives added to the existing boys and girls restrooms and the associated transfer fans.

Approve Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Gymnasium Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Replacement at Plant High School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The HVAC System in the Plant High School Gymnasium has been malfunctioning for quite some time. District staff selected Carastro & Associates, Inc. and Reno Building, LLC from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services to replace the HVAC system. The project scope consisted of the replacement of three HVAC units in the gymnasium, addition of variable frequency drives added to the existing boys and girls restrooms and the associated transfer fans. Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price establishes the cost for the project. Project completion is scheduled for April 26, 2019.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
Funds in the amount of $1,000,000.00 will be available in the Community Investment Tax fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8200. As of Wednesday, December 5, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $947,300.00. The Guaranteed Maximum Price recommended for approval is $680,175.
