SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Contract with the State of Florida Department of Health for the Funding of the Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP) at LaVoy Exceptional Center (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools is being provided funding and support by the State of Florida Department of Health for the implementation of CSPAP at LaVoy Exceptional Center.  The CSPAP is part of the Healthy Schools Program.  The program will provide support designed to encourage and teach students with disabilities to be physically active with the goal of meeting the national recommended 60 minutes of physical activity each day.  It will provide access to physical activity opportunities before, during, and after school. 

As part of the State of Florida Department of Health policy, the Department can only sign and execute a contract after it is approved and signed by the provider.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $10,024 will be available for this project.  A Hillsborough County Public Schools project number will be assigned when funds are received.
EVALUATION
The evaluation will be completed by the district's Supervisor of Physical Education and Health K-12, using a program assessment tool provided by the State of Florida Department of Health to measure barriers, successes, and challenges to implementing the CSPAP within the school.
