Recognition of Frontier Communications for Donations to Hillsborough County Public Schools (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Frontier Communications committed to donating $10,000 during the month of December 2018, as part of their Season of Giving Sweepstakes. The Season of Giving Sweepstakes encouraged the recycling of old electronics as well as student service learning through volunteerism.  Through a partnership with eSmart Recycling, a portion of the recycled equipment will be rebuilt and donated to bridge the technology divide and empower students through sustainable education. 50-$100 gift cards where presented to high school students at the Joy of Giving event.  Students qualified by volunteering in advance to sort and distribute gifts at the event. Muller Elementary Magnet was randomly selected during the first drawing, December 1-15, to receive a $2,000 donation. Mann Middle School was randomly selected during the second drawing, December 15-31, to receive a $2,000 donation. Dowdell Middle Magnet School will receive the rebuilt equipment from the recycled technology drive valued in excess of $1,000 to enhance student learning. eSmart Recycling will provide technical assistance and support.
