EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The attached document details what Hillsborough County Public Schools was able to accomplish in fiscal year 2016. All school sites, divisions, and employees had a part in our solution.
The Operating Fund Balance was a work in progress, as we reviewed each expenditure to determine whether the amount could be appropriately charged to a revenue source other than the Operating Budget. We examined a large number of costs that were paid out of the General Fund and we saw a savings in expenses; worked with existing vendors for increased rebates and changed contract terms; transferred expenditures out, where appropriate, to the other funds; and changed staffing formulas. |
