Adoption of Proclamation—National Inclusive Schools Week, December 5, 2016, through December 9, 2016 (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request the School Board adopt the attached National Inclusive Schools Week proclamation to recognize effective inclusive practices in Hillsborough County Public Schools. 

National Inclusive Schools Week is an opportunity to recognize the progress that our schools have made in implementing effective inclusive education practices and to showcase the many instructional endeavors in general education that help students with disabilities. 

National Inclusive Schools Week is an event that is sponsored by the Inclusive Schools Network (ISN). The ISN is a worldwide resource and network of professionals, families, schools, and organizations whose mission is: "to encourage, embolden, and empower people to design and implement effective inclusive schools by sharing insights and best practices and by providing opportunities for connection."

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health

There is no additional financial impact to the district for this proclamation.
