Transportation has identified current high school and middle school areas that meet state hazardous walking criteria and will continue service for students who live in those areas. The remaining areas will have service removed for the 2017-2018 academic year. Letters of notification will be sent with Board approval of this agenda item to notify the parents of those students affected. The letters will include a copy of the criteria used as outlined under Florida Statute, a form that can be filled out for parents who feel that the area still meets the criteria, as well as identify any other issues to be pushed out to the appropriate jurisdiction and a list of other opportunities that may exist in the community to assist parents with this transition.
